Community creativity & activation weekend
Come and get creative! Join us at the Russell Town Hall on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June
We received over 1000 different ideas!
Please join us the weekend of 15th and 16th June to find out more and help decide what we can do together.
Mā te wā – see you then.
Here’s how it went
The format for the weekend, and a recap of the results from the Pop-up was presented to everyone. This also outlined the process for moving forward, taking the myriad ideas from the community to shape them into specific projects that could then be worked upon.
Below is the slide presentation of what was said.
We had a good range of the community come by to the Town Hall and a number were able to stay for the full weekend, but plenty more came in and took a look at the ideas and provided input while they were there.
On Sunday, we started to gather the ideas and place them on a large map of The Strand to get a sense of where things needed to be. Then a summary was written up for people to look at and decide where to put their vote.
The next step is to prioritise the ideas and get going! The voting for ideas will take place from Friday 5 July to Friday 19 July. The detail of the concepts proposed can be found here.
