Activation & Creativity weekend

With so many ideas and suggestions, the next step was to refine them down into actual proposals that could be taken forward. There were 6 clear themes, which we decided to workshop over the weekend. These were:

1. Play spaces;
2. A safer Strand (traffic management);
3. Storytelling, signage and wayfaring;
4. Landscaping and Beach access;
5. Public Seating;
6. Picnic, BBQ & hangi spaces

These were workshopped throughout the weekend, while other activities such as hop-scotch and Tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses) were painted for the community to enjoy. The attendees were then asked to vote on their favourites and these were then refined by the Steering Committee to provide the options which are now being voted on.
